The Optimist Club of Milton in association with the Milton COVID Assistance Group is hosting an EMERGENCY FOOD DRIVE
Why: It is projected that the need for Food Banks will rise sharply over the next few weeks, far surpassing their regular capacity
WHEN: For at least the next two weekends
• March 21st & 22nd and March 28th & 29th
WHERE: Larose Bakery Parking Lot 327 Bronte St South
• There will be a black pickup, Operation Safety, next to our Optimist Trailer in the Parking lot
TIMES: 10am till 2pm (or later as conditions may dictate)
WHERE IS THE FOOD GOING: Food will be distributed to the
• Salvation Army Food Bank
• Grace Anglican Church
• Other location as determined by the Milton COVID Assistance Coordinators
• and possibly another Emergency Food Bank being consider at the Italian Canadian Club of Milton location
WHAT IS NEEDED: At this time, we can only safely handle non-perishables items in cans, bottles or packing.
There will be a Donation box available as well accepting Gift Cards or cash
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
• Only non-perishables items in cans, bottles or packing
• All items MUST be purchased from a regular retail outlet and be in good condition
• Please place all items into a bag or box simply place it into the back of the truck
• You will NOT be approached by anyone, but there will be a Club Member or other Volunteer present to control and oversee the process
• Please practice Social Distancing during the entire process
